For the second time in a week, OFD visited Blue Mountain High School. OFD Assistant Chief Scott Rarick conducted a Recruitment Program for students interested in learning about Community Service through participation in the Volunteer Fire Service. The program, held during the School's 9th period, was attended by over forty students. Scott provided the students with an overview of the various challenges faced by firefighters today. The program was aimed not only at students who might be considering joining the OFD, but involved the Fire Companies serving each of the Communities that make up the Blue Mountain School District. In addition to Orwigsburg, firefighters from Auburn, Friedensburg and New Ringgold were in attendance and contact information was provided to the students for each of the Companies in the District.
